"The Forgotten Worlds!... Spyro, you'll have to go. Nobody else can fit down the holes."
—A dragon Elder giving Spyro his orders.

The Forgotten Worlds, more commonly known as The Forgotten Realms, are the former homes of the Dragons from the Dragon Realms, making its first appearance in Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The Dragons once ruled the Forgotten Realms alongside the Sorceres and her Rhynoc army before the events of Spyro The Dragon - in which Spyro defeated Gnasty Gnorc. However, the Dragons and the Sorceress didn't get along very well. One day, when a Dragon Elder and the Sorceress were having a huge argument, she banished all of the Dragons to the other side of the world, which would eventually become known as the Dragon Realms. Unfortunately, ever since the dragons left, all the magic in the Forgotten Realms started to dry up. Along with a special Bonus World in which Spyro can collect more gems and defeat the Sorceress, The Forgotten Realms have four worlds, Sunrise Spring, Midday Gardens, Evening Lake and Midnight Mountain; all of these worlds have several malfunctioning portals due to the lack of magic in their world.

In the Spyro: Year of the Dragon (and Kingdom Hearts III, which takes place during Spyro's adventure in the Forgotten Realms), the Sorceress is the main antagonist of the world.

After Spyro's adventures in the Forgotten Realms, all the magic returned to the land.
