Riku is a supporting protagonist the Kingdom Hearts series and its spin off Superhero Keyblade Wars.

Personality[]

Riku is a calm, cool, collected young man who is not afraid to go far beyond his limits. He initially had an unfavorable history with Sora, as shown in the original Kingdom Hearts, but over time, he became more heroic, and his rivalry with Sora is now of a friendly nature. Riku is also protective of both Sora and Kairi, to the point where he takes serious wounds meant for either of them, and is willing to sacrifice himself for their sake. This is partly due to romantic feelings for both of them.

During the Superhero Keyblade War, Riku seems willing to use violence, particularly when dealing with Demonizer's DeathTroopers, though still preferring to non lethally incapacitate human, or at least humanoid opponents like Sora would. He also appears to recognise that Ignis, in spite of his actions, is yet another victim of the forces of darkness, but does not tolerate his initially shitty attitude or his attempts to justify his actions, challenging his world view, fears and preconceptions in order to try and bring him out of the dark into the light. He acts like a brother figure to Sora, Kairi, and even Ignis. He does not care much for Sarah, but becomes aggressive when she tries to claim Sora as her husband.

Appearance[]

Aside from being more well-toned and handsome, Riku is relatively unchanged from his appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3, but when he gets his Kingdom Changer from GOTHOH, he dons his Super Keyblade Armor with green, black, and gold lights and accents.
