Magneto is the leader of a mutant brotherhood at war with his old friend Professor X and the X-Men. He wears a helmet that prevents Professor X from reading his mind, and is called the Master of Magnetism.

Magneto regards mutants as superior to humans and rejects the possibility of peaceful human-mutant coexistence; he aims to conquer the world to enable mutants (whom he refers to as "homo superior") to replace humans as the dominant species, using extreme methods that conflict with the philosophies of his former friend and archenemy Professor X. When it becomes clear to him that Demonizer is largely responsible for much of the bigotry and prejudice Magneto and his kind have been through for years, has no real sympathy with him or his brotherhood, and wants to make humans and mutants alike suffer endlessly under their rule, Magneto defects to the X-Men to help them win the Superhero Keyblade War and end the oppression of the empire for good.
