A Linchpin Keyblade is an extremely unique and powerful Keyblade that was designed for special access to all the Universe but more importantly, access to Kingdom Hearts itself, in the Kingdom Hearts III Duology it was confirmed that the X-Blade was indeed a Linchpin Keyblade and that three more similar Keyblades exist out there.
Characteristics[]
A Linchpin Keyblade has a mind of its own and answers only to a single master, should it be forced to take a new master it would only share its power with a worthy master who dominates their enemies completely in battle, Yen Sid described a Linchpin Keyblade as a "Keyblade that works with Existence" and that to wield such a Keyblade you have to extended "Beyond the limits of Human strength and intellect" - stating in a roundabout way that the creators of these Keyblades were originally not human despite taking the guise of a Human. It also hints that they were never related to humans, therefore they are not any of the known species in the Kingdom Hearts Universe, thus far.
Despite being treated with harsh discretion by Keyblade Masters, Linchpin Keyblades are not overly light or dark, Linchpin Keyblades can use multiple elements either at once or on their own - they are not limited to the elements of light and dark either.
