The Kingdom Hearts III Duology was a AU fanfiction series that followed on from where Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance left off, while everyone seeks the Seven Keyblade Warriors of Light to stand against the new Organization XIII Sora goes off on his own and comes to learn that Master Xehanort's attempt to make him a clone had some side-effects, reinforced by the changes his heart and Ven's heart have caused within the other the two begin their adventure to distract the Second Organization XIII.

Season one - Rising Twilight[]

Sora follows the voice in his heart which leads him through a Dark Corridor of his own creation to the Realm of Darkness' shore where Sora frees Ansem the Wise and Aqua from their prison, with Aqua's help Sora unlocks the Room of Sleep where Ven awakens to the presence of his heart which returns to him although a bond remains between the two Keyblade Wielders, while Aqua decides to drop off Ansem the Wise at Radiant Garden before going to meet with Master Yen Sid the two younger linked Keybladers decide to take the war directly to their enemies.
Yen Sid and Riku begin training Kairi in the ways of wielding and fighting using a Keyblade while keeping track of Master Xehanort and his organization's movements, Aqua's arrival only accelerates Kairi's training before Aqua leaves to gain her own personal apprentice along with King Mickey who is now training Lea, but time is short as battle lines are being quickly drawn as factions of Light and Darkness across the Galaxy begin to clash and barriers dividing worlds begin to collapse.
Meanwhile, a young man named Arashi seeks a childhood friend who was a fellow refugee and now prince of Radiant Garden's new government: the Radiance Principality, Higeki. When in a scuffle with a few Heartless, after almost bumping into the Prince, he gains access to a unique Keyblade which draws the attention of a reclusive group of Dark Keyblade Wielders.
