The Iron Monger was a suit of armor utilized by Obadiah Stane against Iron Man.
Personality[]
Obadiah Stane conspired against Tony Stark because he felt that Tony's discontinuing the manufacturing of his weapons was leading Stark Industries to ruin and destroying his father's legacy.
Stane was also greedy and power hungry, and was implied to be jealous of Tony’s successes and potential even way before orchestrating the Afghanistan Incident. When he donned the Iron Monger suit, Stane became more dangerous and willing to kill those who supported Tony’s wiser decisions, which included threatening a car’s passengers which he deemed as collateral damage.[1]
With Stark Industries facing ruin after the actions of Lord Stark in the Superhero Infinity War, in a way, Stane was ironically justified in his belief that Tony would destroy his company and family legacy, though it still does not excuse Stane’s own crimes.

- Most of Stane’s quotes in the video game and novelization of Iron Man (2008) are paraphrased by Lord Stark in Marvel VS Super Sentai, to highlight how Tony became no better than Stane in the new timeline.
