Reformation has come! The time has come to clean up the wiki, as it has become a messy, messy place. No more just slapping templates at the top of a page. http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac193/LegoAlchemist/Vsymbol.png Okay guys. Your neighborhood LegoAlchemist bringing up a few things we need to discuss.

First and most importantly: A user on the Kingdom hearts Wiki has brought up the option of merging the fanon wiki and the KH Wiki, in spite of the discussed secession from wikia. Quite a few users, including an admin or two, are in favor of the move. This was brought up before here, but I don't feel it was discussed, or noticed, enough. Please direct your attention there and leave your opinions.

Second, about moving in general. Thousands of people on wikia are furious about the new skin they just released, Oasis. We are currently hosting Oasis without an argument, but it hasn't really been formally talked about here. Does the community here have so many problems with Oasis that we feel the need to secede from wikia? You can take a look here if you want more information on the matter, as well as several opinions. We, however, don't seem to have as many technological problems with Oasis than KH Wiki does, so it will be entirely based on your guys's opinions if we move or not. If you want to, drop a comment on the matter below.

Next, we have considered the option of adopting Achievements (also known as Leaderboards or Userbadges) onto this wiki. What do you guys think? There has been some controversy over what badges would get in or not (such as the pointless "Joining the Wiki" badge), however. I feel this would be a great way to get us motivated into editing the mainspace again :)

I think that is all... if there's anything you'd like to say on the matter, please drop a comment below.

LegoAlchemist http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac193/LegoAlchemist/Vsymbol.png Something bad is happening. I don't know what me, Harold, you, or Bradley have to do with it, but as long as I have the Keyblade, the ability to fight this threat, I can't sit around. -- Owen Stevens

http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac193/LegoAlchemist/Vsymbol.png I agree. I'm not too thrilled about merging/moving either.

I agree, merging would be a bad idea. Remember how much of the vandalism awhile back was based on the fact that they "weren't probable" because they used non-Disney licenses? (Okay, much of the vandalism was just jerks taking out their issues on the pages, but still...) Besides, we don't want to confuse newer members with fan material that doesn't appear in canon games.

...BUT since Maggosh said that the merger wouldn't be happening, I guess my argument is about nothing, then. Tamroc7 02:43, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

Merge = Bad
Achievements = Good

"C'mon Sora, I thought you were stronger than that."

http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy220/SilverCrono/RikuTKW-1-1.png I've been at a wiki with achievements. Here's the timeline of what will inevitably happen:
  1. Everyone thinks it's a good idea
  2. Achievements added
  3. Ach. clutter your userpage with no way to remove them
  4. The users against it will be extremely frustrated
  5. All of a sudden, a bunch of noobs and vandals come from seemingly nowhere and attack the wiki/do crap just to get points
  6. The users who have high scores will hold it over the others, laugh, and generally be corrupted, and
  7. The entire wiki gets tired of it and they are disabled.

Why do you think they're not mandatory? They fail. Wikia knows that, which is why the Achievements are optional. And yes, this really happened. Trust me.

@First, I tottaly disagree with the merge.

@Second, A transfer isn't necesary. It's fine if this wiki stays like this. However, if a wiki with the former skin is available. I would like a transfer.

@Third. This is the third time someone stole an idea from me... I originaly planed an Achievements in Microsoft Word ^_^ So obviously I agree with this. Howbout' adding ranks? ^_^ For all you guys who disagree on this. I hate you. Except for you SilverCrono, I like you ^_^

I haven't had time to read the linked pages yet, but here's my input: merge with KHWikia - hell no. I'm the one who began the separation in the first place, transferring articles from user-subpages there to mainspace articles here. Merging fanon with canon so that they're both mainspace is just asking for trouble.

Secession from Wikia - on this one, I agree. I hate Oasis, primarily because it doesn't work well at school, and ends up adding around three pages of unnecessary links at the top of the pages, and I have to click "skip to Wikia Article" every damned time. The old skins were just peachy, thank you very much.

Achievements - a good intention, but from what SC said, probably going to have a bad result. Something along those lines would be good, though; we need to provide incentives for mainspace editing. King Nothing Where's your crown? 14:08, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I checked out some of the linked pages, one of them was too freaking huge for me to mess with in the middle of physics class (which is where I am now), so if someone can give me a major nutshell version of it, that would be appreciated. From what I did gather, though, here's my new input:

Merge: still a HELL NO, but it's been resolved.

Move: HELL YES, but depending on where we're moving to and the difficulties involved.

Achievements/Leaderboards: it kinda happens anyway, but I don't think we really want something that could give the impression that some users are considered superior to others due to what they've done. Yes, the merit system is the best I know of for promotion, etc., but keeping it simple is better, i.e. Sysops (admins who can promote other people to admin or mod status), regular Admins, Mods, and then the normal users. As I previously said, though, we do need an incentive to encourage mainspace editing. Of which I need to go do some now. King Nothing Where's your crown? 14:23, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

http://s798.photobucket.com/albums/yy267/Dan_da_Man36/Dans-Crownorange.png My two cents:
  1. Merging: Bad idea.
  2. Moving: I'm kind of used to Oasis now... With some heavy customizing of course... I don't really mind if we move or not.
  3. Achievements: I don't like the automatic ones. At all. But if we make ones in say, Userbox format, and award them manually, I think it could work.

maggosh The steel is forged... "If light is to rule over all, then you must rid the world of everything else."

"In the time between, we’re separated. Literally worlds apart."

Merging: Discussed already. We're not.

Moving: Don't wanna. I'm used to Oasis now, albeit with the handy-dandy CSS modifier, and I'm used to the daily grind of logging on, like, HERE.

Achievements: Eh, I'm on the fence with this one.

Eh, might as well toss my 2 cents in.
Merging: No, not a good idea, as stated before.
Moving: As maggosh said, with the CSS in effect I've gotten pretty used to Oasis.
Achievments: Don't like em very much to be honest. As said before, manual ones would work, but the automatic ones could encourage vandalism just to get em.

http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac193/LegoAlchemist/Vsymbol.png @mecha: From what i gather, moving IS a pretty big issue. I don't think it's very HARD, per se, but funding is a big issue. So unless anyone here is willing to, y'know, put in some money toward it, we shouldn't move.

Nitrous X Talk to me, Mogmi. "I may not have a heart, but what I'm feeling now is real. This is who I am, a Nobody, and that's not going to change any time soon."

You can't stop the end from coming, no matter who you are.

Merge: Ugh, so glad we're not merging. I would rather gnaw my legs off.

Move: No way! I like Oasis. Sure it has a few glitches, but it looks pretty good.

Achievements: I don't mean to be negative three times in one edit, but still, NO. I've never liked the idea on other wikias either. It's just bothersome and can cause all sorts of problems that were listed above. If you want to compare yourself to other users, just use the editcount special page...

So, overall, I vote for no changes... I like the Kingdom Hearts Fanon Wiki just the way it is. :)

Ayano Katagiri Um... Can we talk about this... Please...? "I'm weak okay! You know I don't stand a chance against you!"

Vector! I-I can't tell you that! It's classified information! — Don't ask.

I'm not paying... =,= I've read the links and um...

Merge: No. The staff wouldn't be able to become a staff member there even if we merged. That's unfair. I'll let Kingdom Hearts Wiki have fun letting users make fanon articles on their new wiki. Later on, those nitwits will have issues of settling What is canon and what the hell is not. =.= Idiots...

Move: Neutral. I'm quite fine with Oasis and frankly, I can and I am using it Unmodified. The only thing I dislike about it is that it looks like somekind of a YouTube Channel, and is less "Awesome" looking than the real Wikia. Honestly, I prefer the old skin. But, hey. How the hell are we gonna find a site with the old skin? If we are going to host ours. Who will pay? Not me for sure =,=

'Achievements: 'YES YES YES SPAM YES! I absolutely love it. If most people here has issues with it, why not preform it manually? That way there will be no stupid conflict on "I can't remove achievements! Boo Hoo". And yes, I'm a fan of achievements. Not that I wan't to show off my edits (Like most retards [Yes, They are retarded] in KH wiki that shut down blogs to show off there goddamn edits. Hell, If I wanted to show off my edits so much, Why am I not editing?!) It's just that, it somehow gives you a motivation or gives this wiki some fun to it. Seriously, This wiki is practically dead in Asian time of 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM... Stop complaining about it. If it's some much of an issue why not do it Manually. And for those editcount-freak,Howbout' we just remove editcount huh? Lastly, PROTIP to the Editcount-freak: Edits do not reflect on anything peoples. (And yes, I am lazy)

http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac193/LegoAlchemist/Vsymbol.png So, basically I'm hearing, "Don't move unless we can get the funding", "Don't merge PERIOD", and "Yes to Achievements, but only if we can distribute them manually".

I think that sounds nice. But I'll back up Nitrous on the grounds that the wiki is fine the way it is ^_^

TroisNyxÉtienne Now, everyone, ALL TOGETHAAAAR… — 07:48, November 12, 2010 (UTC)
Well, here's my £2 :
  • Merging : NOT A CHANCE. The influx of users who end up coming to KHW would end up writing fanon stories and we'd have the same trouble as has recurred on KHW, and no one would go easy on us for that. I wouldn't.
  • Move : TBH, I'm for the move. Call me a centre-right if you wish where this matter is concerned. Many of our templates on KHFR-Oasis have been fouled up.
  • Achievements : Yes, but manually, in template/userbox form. I'm happy.

I wouldn't have half the problem that I do with Oasis... IF IT WOULD FRIGGIN' WORK PROPERLY AT SCHOOL (which is where I do very nearly all of my editing)!!! King Nothing Where's your crown? 12:24, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

Hey ShadowXemmy! Glad to have you back. About the moving: I cannot help with funding with this. I just don't have the money! And I think getting cash for this move is going to be a major issue.

Ayano Katagiri Um... Can we talk about this... Please...? "I'm weak okay! You know I don't stand a chance against you!"

So uh.... Are we going to do ANYTHING? Other than talk about this then abandon the subject later. (Which Is a common practice here) We should seriously finish this guys.

@Mecha-sempai, I can't help either with the funding and Nearly all of us agree with moving however, where are we going next? And how are we going to get funds for that? On the other hand, there are sites that is free of use In particular, http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/ ? (It's not the best option, through) However, nothing can beat wikia... If you prefer a more "Wikipedia-ish" look http://www.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page and see which one works best for the computer in your school.

@LegoAlchemist and Nitrous X, Yeeeah. I like the wiki the way it is... But, most of us like transfering. (Which is an issue)

Overall, Are we going to preform these things or not?
